Deepwinter
The Frozen God, The Enduring Silence

Deepwinter can always be found in the world of Aldun, but not always in the same place twice, though it doesn't ever move. The avatar of The Frozen God can be encountered only by those travelling in the deepest frozen wastes of the far north or south. It is told that a sudden blizzard will descend upon such travelers causing all to lose their bearings.
When the veil of snow finally lifts, they find themselves standing in a wide, but shallow depression filled with packed snow and jagged ice. In the center of the depression is a massive spike of red ice, like frozen blood, thrusting over 50 feet out of the packed snow. Deep within the crystal a dim glow pulses slowly and without sound or tremor, unable to penetrate the crushing stillness that surrounds the crystal.
Deepwinter embodies perfect stillness. Not peace. Not rest. Simply stillness. In the presence of its crystal, winds die, snow stops falling, sound becomes muffled, and it feels as if your heart will stop beating. Followers claim that near Deepwinter, moments stretch thin, as if time itself is reluctant to continue.
