Jotun

Tall, hairy, and muscular, the jotun are often mistaken for monsters of the wild. They look somewhat between a human and ape, with thick fur more like that of a bear. Vaguely human faces are often buried in heavy beards, moustaches, and flowing hair. They dress simply, preferring natural textiles and the occasional animal skins. The longest lived among the mortals, jotun prefer to take their time in all things. They are as slow to make decisions and even slower to communicate the result.

The jotun reject much of civilization and technology, valuing the natural over the manufactured. They live in small nomadic tribes that wander the frozen steppes, tundra, and snow-covered forests of the world, never staying anywhere long enough to build permanent settlements. They prefer simple clothing, tools, and weapons made by hand from natural materials and have no interest in accumulating wealth. Art, in particularly songs and stories, are of the greatest value to them.

Imposing looking beings, taller than the tallest humans and broad of chest and shoulder. They are covered in pale fur and have pink, yellow, or silver eyes. Small dark horns lay flat across their brow.

~ Fire attacks are +1 Attack and Damage vs Jotun.
~ Take half damage from Cold and Ice attacks.
~ Can move through snow at normal pace.

Yeti

Yeti are more animal than kin, preoccupied with hunting prey and guarding their territory than anything else. Living in packs much like apes, they hunt in small groups and are led by the largest female in the pack who also tends to have the most offspring. Similar in size and build to jotun, they have much thicker pelts, which is yellowed, dingy and often stained with blood. Their horns are much larger and their features are more primal. When first encountered they often act very cautious and almost docile. But at any moment they can suddenly snap, exploding into violence. The cannot speak like the jotun and resent it, becoming frustrated when others try to communicate. This can easily cause them to fly into a rage.
