Hairfoot

Hairfoots, also known rather derogatorily as smallfolk and halfmen, are known to be spurious lot. They are treated poorly in many human and dweorg settlements, often looked upon as lazy, unpredictable, or even criminal. Few know that they have been cursed by their own god. The God of Trickery couldn't help itself and had to play a trick on their own mortal children. Hairfoot are unable to take anything too seriously for too long and easily distracted from serious topics by any form of entertainment or foolishness.

This has led to them being barely capable of self governing as a society. Instead they tend to live within the settlements of humans, dweorg, ailurians, and dryads (whom they get along with quite well). Those that don't form communes on the fringes of civilization, close enough to take advantage of safe roads and abundance of food, yet far enough away to avoid taxation and the uncountable laws of so-called civilization. It is not complete anarchy within their communes however, the curse is not so strong that Hairfoots cannot see the need to "button all your buttons" and put in work to keep your family fed and safe.

Short and generally lean. 3'6" on average. Resemble humans in skin and hair colors, but have large, pointed ears, slightly pronounced canines, and large padded, furry feet.

~ Very sure footed. +1 to all rolls involving sneaking, balancing, or climbing.

Goblin

Twisted in the extreme, goblins take the prankish nature of their uncorrupted kin to a sadistic level. Their highest form of entertainment and pleasure is bringing about misfortune and misery upon other mortals. They live in tight family units, often in underground burrows, shallow caves, and crude structures in dark, tucked away places. However they have been known to form larger communities when brought under the control of a strong master. Goblins are slightly shorter than hairfoots, with twisted features such as warty, scaly skin, bulging red eyes, crooked fangs, and long pointed noses.
