Dryad

Most dryads can be summed up in a single word - wild. They live together in large, loose communes with little to no governance or formal organization. They are self sufficient and laid back to the point they seem irresponsible. When the need arises, the elders of the community come together and form temporary councils and courts to make decisions, adjudicate conflicts, and call upon members of society to work together for things like defending the commune, dealing with outbreaks of illness, and preparing for natural disasters.

Dryads care little for history and book knowledge, having no written form of language of their own, preferring to use simple runes learned from humans, dweorg, and the Hairfoot. As such they haven't recorded their own history and it has been lost to time. Relying on nature and magic more than technology, dryads craft everything using wood, stone, and hide. It is very rare to see a dryad carrying anything made of metal. They live in remote and wild places, far from large settlements and civilization. Only the most inhospitable climates and terrain, ones that discourage all animal and plant life are avoided. Their strongest preference is for deep woods and secluded mountain valleys.

Boggart

Boggarts are everything dryads are not. Shorter and more muscular, they have skin the color of dead and rotting wood, with hair like burnt bark and diseased leaves. Their most striking feature is their black eyes with white pupils and jet black teeth, like tiny chips of coal. Unable to relax and enjoy life, boggarts are riddled with anxieties and compulsive behaviors that put them constantly on edge. Like coiled springs they are just waiting for the smallest thing to set them off and provoke a violent response.
