Symbol: A radiant sun with 9 golden flames emanating from a polished silver disk.

The Lord of Lights is often believed to be the sun itself, but that is not its avatar. The sun is simply a promise it keeps. When the Lord of Lights manifests, it is as a great and terrible lamp wrought in gold and ivory and adorned with living wings of white. It radiates a light of absolute clarity and pure colors. Those bathed in this light can hold no burdens in their hearts, but few can tolerate it for the way it reveals the darkness with us.

The Lord of Lights embodies hope that persists despite the certainty of coming darkness. Unlike naive optimism, this hope is hard-earned. A common sentiment of its followers

“Hope is not a rebuke of darkness. It is the decision to act in spite of it.”

The Lord of Lights is steady, patient, and quietly resolute. It does not rage against or even condemn the darkness. It simply returns to bring more hope. Again and again.
