Pentats

The Pentat are an unsettling fusion of slug and reptile, their bodies gliding forward on a muscular, mollusk-like foot while their upper form blooms into five sinuous, tentacle-like arms. Crowning this alien frame is a peculiar, starfish-shaped head divided into five distinct segments, each bearing its own unblinking eye. At rest, these segments fold tightly together, forming a smooth, acorn-like dome that conceals the creature’s true complexity.

Beneath that shell, however, lies a remarkable and disquieting truth: each segment houses a fully independent brain, complete with its own personality, desires, and will. These five minds share control of the body in a delicate, ever-shifting arrangement. While each can command its corresponding arm, only one personality at a time may govern the creature’s movement and speech through the shared foot and mouth, forcing the others into a silent chorus of competing thoughts beneath the surface.
